Basic health assessment and care
Wellness tent Clinic
On our May outreach, we decided to set up a wellness clinic for the locals.
We reviewed blood pressure and did glucose readings along with a general check-up.
We decided to ask some visitors what their challenges in terms of healthcare have been.
They reported that the clinic is more than 30 minutes away and often experiences medication shortages. Patients have to wait in long queues to see a doctor.
Many villagers have chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes and HIV/Aids which require them to travel to the clinic often. The majority of visitors asked for HIV tests and medication for influenza and pain.
